Our hometown in Turkey is a Circassian village of Sivas city, Sarkisla province at latitude 39°08', longitude 36°33'. Its neighbours are villages Karacaoren, Demirboga, Kapaklipinar (Sivas) and Kazancik (Kayseri) . It is 30 km apart from Sarkisla and 113 km apart from center of Sivas. According to governmental records, there are 30 houses and 80 people in our village currently. Most people work on agriculture and cattle and sheep breeding. Wheat, dough and rye are grown in the village.
According to Mr. Ozdemir Ozbay (Ismeyl)'s work named "The Circassian Ethnography in Middle and New Age"; it is said that Yeniyapan is founded by Sydi (or Sidi) family after the Great Exodus on 1864. The Circassian name of our village is Sidkit (Sydkit).
Many people from our family still live in our hometown.
